How Human is your Workplace?
Logically of-course our workplace is human – it’s full of them! But how many ethical, real humans work where you work? How honest is the human behaviour that you observe? How real are you, or are you conforming and pretending like everyone else?
Julie and Emma from Courageous Success recently spent the day in London observing the behaviour of individuals on their way in and out of their workplace. Most appeared stressed. Most spent the entire time on their phones. Most were alone.
The avoidance of each other and the distraction strategies of the phone coupled with the strategic but unconscious use of gaining personal power from ‘living in the job’ were enormous.
So let’s share a little test. We’ve come up with words that describe the old way of being in business and our challenge is that they reduce real human interaction and feeling. As opposed to new ways of being in business which can be stable, consistent and open to everyone no matter what level they are at. Which of these words represent your workplace?
